A nice sunny day in the Agon region where it wasn't as cold it was usually. Paku slowly got up to see his trainee Douglas was still asleep in his bed. Creaking his joints back into shape Paku got up and from his chair as he opened the window shade above Douglas' bed as the sun started shining down onto him so he would wake up. "Hey sleepyhead wake up! It's time for your daily training." Paku said as he pulled the sheets off the bed. "We have a big day ahead of us today so we don't want to waste any time"Paku then grabbed his tackle box and fishing rod as he walked near the door. "If you want breakfast you will have to work for it during training." Paku said as he headed out the door and placed a chair near one of the local ice fishing spots. Paku's intent was to have Douglas fish for his breakfast but not by using a pole and bait but to hone his water magic to take the fish right from the water but that would be hard since water magic relies on a steady stream of water and there was so much ice around it would be difficult to take the fish from water beneath the ice. That would be the point of his training.

Douglas woke up to sunlight and Paku tilling him to get up. "Mmmmmmm......" Douglas moaned as he sat up on his bed. He wiped away the sleepiness in his eyes before getting dressed. He then followed Paku outside before stretching a little. "Morning Paku, whats training today?"

He noticed as Douglas woke up and headed outside toward him.
"Today we train your water magic Douglas. It is also how you are going to get your breakfast." Paku said in smug smile.
Paku pointed at the ice hole where the fish would be swimming about under the ice.
"You are to use your water magic to take out a fish from the water underneath this ice and place it in this bucket. Due to the ice covering the water this will be a bit difficult for you but that is the point of this training."
Paku sat down and began to fish the normal way with a pole and bait.
"Now get to it Douglas."
Paku said as he already started to get a bite on his pole and reeled it out.

Douglas listened to what Paku said and just nodded. Douglas then took his position before moving his spread out hands over the hole. His magic started to flow from his hands before Douglas closed his eyes. He breathed calmly as he blocked out everything else around him. He wanted full concentration for this, meaning NO distractions. All Douglas focused on was his magic, to complete the task.

Paku managed to get another fish from the fishing hole and as it turned out it was a rather big one too. "Whoa that's a biggie! Might be enough for both of us." Paku smiled as Douglas tried to concentrate. "Well too bad you can't have any." Paku smirked as he began the process of descaling and gutting the fish making audible noises when doing so. "Is this bothering you? Oh I'm sorry I'll try to do it quieter." He said as he began to audibly chop logs then setup a campfire by dumping the logs on the stone pit. As he began striking two stones together to make a fire he noticed young Douglas struggling with his magic. "Tell you what if you finish that up faster I'll let you have some of this roasted fish." Paku began roasting the fish over the fire after getting it all prepped for cooking. Despite being sunny today it was still cold which was easily remedied with some Agon Spice put on the fish as it cooked. "If you manage to catch even a minnow i'll count that as training and you can eat, how does that sound?" Paku said with a smile. He knew he was being too hard on the boy but he did care after all Douglas was like a son he never had.

Douglas could hear everything Paku said and was doing. And to be honest about it, was annoying Douglas. His hand twitching a little as Douglas put more magic into it. His magic seemed a bit darker, like it commonly did when Douglas got annoyed. Well commonly if you were around Douglas as much as Paku had. Douglas had too much respect to do anything to Paku so he set on SHOWING Paku just how skilled he really is. Some the of the ice round the hole cracked ever so slightly as the water below started to move more and more as Douglas finally caught a fish within his watery tides. With that Douglas focused on getting the fish out of the hole, the fish jumping out and landing beside Douglas. He smirked then before looking at Paku with a smirk. "Pardon Paku? What were you saying?"

"Well it seems you caught a fish granted it isn't the biggest one out there."Paku said in a smirk. Paku had chairs setup near the fire and patted the chair near his to show to come over. "You also forgot to put the fish you caught in the bucket so i'm afraid you will have to start over." Paku teased. "But you did catch a fish so lets eat the one I caught for now." Paku smiled as he motioned to the roasted fish he had already prepared.

Douglas rolled his eyes as Paku spoke and took a seat. Douglas then heard he tease and chuckled, "Suuuuuuuuuuuuuure I will. Suuuuuuuuuuure. If you want my magic to go dark again." Douglas said clearly teasing back. Douglas would say no more then as he let Paku to think about that one. Douglas wondered how Paku would respond to that one, and waited calmly for that response. But then something else came across Douglas' mind. "Hey Paku. You know how, my magic get darker...when i get annoyed or angry....do you know why? And is it common?" Douglas would look at Paku then, hoping he would have some answers.

"Your magic is a bit of a strange case and I have been wondering that during the course of your training but I have a few theories about that." Paku said ignoring Douglas's tease. "Number 1: You are putting your raw emotions into the magic when casting it thus making it weaker." Paku then took a bite out of his fish piece from the big fish he caught and swallowed. "Number 2: Your magic hasn't fully developed yet and still needs practice." Paku said as the then turned to look at Douglas with a serious face. "And finally Number 3: You are one of the rare breed of magic users who use Mixed Magic. Your Water Magic could very well be mixed with Darkness magic allowing you to use both types of magic at the same time." Paku then turned back toward the campfire and smiled as he ate more of the fish. "But considering how effective you've been with your magic training it could just be the first one." Paku teased as he ate more of the fish.

Douglas smiled a bit when Paku ignored the first part and then answered the rest of what he said. But he felt calmer at the options Paku gave him. In fact it made him smile more as he began to eat out of his piece and swallow. "Then I guess we'll just have to find out won't we?" Douglas said calmly half knowing and half hoping that is isn;t from the first one. ' It shouldn't be the first one should it? That last training, felt easier when my magic got darker...could it be the third? but then if it is, why can i only use the second magic when angry? Well no point wondering over it now, i got to focus on training, and protecting those i still have.' Douglas seemed to nod a little after that thought before continuing to eat his food.

"After realizing it I decided it we will go on small break from your daily training for something a bit different." Paku said possibly gaining interest from Douglas. "We are going on a field trip to visit an old friend of mine." Paku said looking over to Douglas. "Take heed though since this will also count as training as their are monsters roaming the pathways toward the area. It will also be a good way to get that frustration out I bet." Paku said knowing that over the course of the training Douglas was getting overly frustrated with his teasing and needed to de-stress as it were.
Paku got up and went back into the cabin after cleaning up from the meal. "Pack your things we are going to leave soon." Paku said as he went into the cabin and began packing his travel bags.

Douglas just listened to Paku before finishing his food. He nodded in response to Paku before looking at his hands a bit. he let his magic flow a little in his hands before nodding to himself. 'Any monster that comes near us is going down. I promise that Paku. I potentially lost my brother, and i'm NOT losing another person close to me.' After that thought Douglas stood up before going into the cabin. Douglas packed all his things making sure he had his sword with him, a sword that reminded Douglas of home, that gave him determination when needed. Douglas so packed up some clothes and other stuff he wanted to bring with him, and most of all, his head necklace thing from when he was young. Douglas was never gonna go anywhere without it.
