Zephiles walked into Cherryton Village, getting strange looks as he walked, being a halfling kinda sucked, but at the same time, he really wanted to prove that halflings shouldn't be hated. he wondered if he might run into the chosen at some point, if he does, maybe he can join his group, it would certainly help with his goal. he was passing by the Cabuelo Residence when he decided, 'might as well say hello.' he thought to himself as he went up to the door, and knocked.

A slightly tall woman with blonde hair and blue eyes answered the door. "Who is it?"
She looked at the boy and almost stared due to his looks but who was she to judge?
"Are you a friend of James?" She reminded herself that her son was the chosen now.
"Or are you here just to see the new chosen?" she said with a slight frown as if she had not been used to it yet.

the second question, "I'm actually new around here" he replied, but then he heard the second question which made his eyebrows raise in surprise "wait..the new chosen is here?" he asked having not expected that statement. his white hair was blowing a little in the wind. though considering the frown he can assume that the chosen probably doesn't like attention, which he can respect.

The woman looked shocked the boy didn't know, but at the same time she felt a little embarrassed she mentioned that.
"Oh I'm sorry! It's just most people who visit Cherryton already heard the news from Hykan and came to visit here to see the chosen."
Abigail sighed and opened the door some more. "James is actually preparing dinner right now. We wouldn't mind an extra mouth to feed if you want to join us." Abigail would smile a bit this time. "My name is Abigail Cabuelo, his mother, please to meet you."

a small smile formed on his face "thanks, nice to meet you Abigail, I'm Zephiles." he replied as he walked in. he walked over to the table and sat down. his yellow eyes looked around, taking in the place, having a feeling he wouldn't be coming back to this place for a long time. still, it would be interesting to meet the chosen. "nice place you have here." he said with a kind smile.

Abigail smiled as she heard the compliment for her decor and house. "Well yes it's quaint but not nearly as fancy as the capital city but hey it's home!" She said with a smile. "Hoo boy! Those are some good noodles our son made!" A new voice would come in the form of a man with brown hair, blue eyes and a brownish beard. "Honey is this another one to see our son?" Benjamin would ask.
"Actually he's new in town and had no idea despite my saying it so I invited Zephiles here for dinner."
Benjamin looked at Zehpiles and stared at him but in a different manner than Abigail did, he stared directly into his eyes.
"He passes! He can see our son without question!"
Suddenly a young boy in a chef's uniform with blonde hair and blue eyes comes in. "Dad are you doing that stupid spirit test of yours again?"
"Yes and he passes!" Says Benjamin.
James smiled.
"Jeez dad you are really such a weird guy sometimes." James looked over to see Zephiles.
"Don't mind my Dad he just likes to think he's chosen sometimes and can judge people based on their spirit. But anyways we're about to eat and we were just taste-testing the dish to see if it worked. Our dinner tonight is Beef and Noodles!"
James said as he set down the bowl in the center of the table and sat down.

seeing what was going on around him left him a bit dumbfounded, when Ben went up in his face and stared into his eyes he felt a bit..weird I guess you could say, then Ben yelled that he passed? he was so confused right now..'this is the Chosen's family?!' he thought seeing this dysfunctional family's antics. 'I'm in for a weird adventure aren't I...' he thought to himself sweat-dropping. he then looked at James and heard what he said, he nodded, seeing how this guy was clearly more normal then the others, 'maybe this guy is the chosen?' he thought to himself feeling the aura around the kid. "Beef and noodles huh...sounds good." The Archer stated with a smirk.

As everyone was sat down at the table everyone passed the noodles around to eat. James started up with a question, one that might surprise Zephiles.
"So Zephiles right? Is it hard being a Half Demon?"
James said as he passed him the noodles.
"If you are wondering how I knew about it, Koa' told me."
James' parents looked at each-other then back at Zephiles with a smile.
"Cherryton is actually one of the few places Halvlings are welcome, if you can believe that for yourself."
James started to eat some of the noodles he made and smiled as he made the food as good as he had hoped.

he has a little flinch at the half demon comment, but calmed now that he knew how James knew. hearing that Cherryton is a place where Halvlings are welcome made him grow a small smile. "yeah, it is kinda hard being a half demon, especially after 200 years of living it." he said with a bitter chuckle. but his eyes showed a fire in them. "if I can just prove to the world that Halvlings can be good too then I'll be satisfied." he stated with serious conviction. he ate the noodles that were passed to him. "these are good." he commented with a smile. he looked at James "so, how skilled are you so far?" he asked curiously.

"Skill wise when it comes to cooking I was told I'm as good as some of the Royal Chefs of the Capital City." James said misunderstanding the question.
Benjamin chuckled and replied. "While that may be true son I think he meant how skilled you are in combat."
James then heard the word combat and it made him a bit sad. "I'm not as good as everyone thinks I am. I'm still in training when it comes to actual combat."
Abigail replied after taking a bite of the noodles. "But James your control over Koa's power is getting much better!" Abigail said trying to cheer him up.
A ball of light appeared in the air next to James and spoke in an ancient language that few would understand as it dates back to the era Nesra corrupted the world, an era before Zephiles was born. "Oh I see." James would say to the ball of light. "Zephiles this is Koa' or rather this is her physical form that she takes sometimes."
"She says she knew your father and is grateful for his help."

Zephiles chuckled at how James misunderstood the question, he listened in a bit, but then Koa was introduced and his eyes widened. he heard it say 'thank you', "I only heard of my father from my mother." he looked at Koa "Koa, my mother once told me that father helped to seal away a demon before he died. may I know the name of that Demon?" he asked with determined eyes.
(okay, I left this bit out of the history, but the battle to seal away Terium had left Zephiles' father with a fatal wound that eventually killed him)

James looked back at Koa' who merely stayed silent for a moment then spoke one word in the language of mortals. "Terium" Koa' would say before speaking the ancient tongue again.
"The Copian Mirror of which Terium was sealed is now shattered to five separate pieces, one in each of the five lands of Copia. The journey will be difficult but I will guide you two the best I can." Koa' would say. "Terium is on the loose somewhere and hidden away but to face him you must gather the fragments of the Copian Mirror and train your hardest." Koa's form vanished then James spoke up. "That's a first. Koa' spoke in a language other than the ancient one."
Both Benjamin and Abigail heard this and wondered about the name Koa' spoke.
"Mom, Dad, It seems Koa' wants us to travel the world and get strong enough to face this Terium demon."
They both looked at each-other and back at James as Benjamin suggested something then.
"I suggest you visit your Uncle Charlie then. He will set you up with the right gear and supplies for the trip."
James finished his noodles and wiped his mouth. "I guess we are off to see my Uncle Smithy then! Care to come along Zephiles?"

a horrified look began to appear on Zephiles' face as word of the demon's freedom was told. then he calmed his features, and had a very serious look on his face as the rest of what Koa had to say was said. "I see.." he muttered, "from what my mother told me, Terium is a shape shifter. I also heard that before he was sealed away he put a bloodline curse on a family somewhere, but that was a rumor so it may not be true." he stated with a grim look on his face. hearing the offer to see this blacksmith interested Zephiles, "sure, I'll come along." he stated with a neutral expression, which slowly turned to relaxed.
